Central Saanich Real Estate

Central Saanich is home to numerous farms as well as beaches and waterfront exposure on both the East and West sides of the Saanich Peninsula. In Central Saanich you’ll also find the friendly villages of Brentwood Bay and Saanichton, spas, restaurants and a small ferry to transport you to Mill Bay.

Town Centers

Central Saanich is a pastoral, rural community. There are two main town centers in the region: Saanichton and Brentwood Bay.

Saanichton is a charming village that is located close to both the farms and the sea. There are many fruit and vegetable farms in the area, making Saanichton a mecca for foodies for much of the year.

Brentwood Bay

Brentwood Bay is a small community on the Saanich Peninsula with a strong rural feel. Residents look out on narrow Saanich Inlet and the towering hills of the Malahat to the west across the water.

While primarily a bedroom community for Victoria about 30 minutes by car to the south, Brentwood Bay is also home to farms and horse stables, and hosts the Saanich Fair each Labour Day weekend.

Brentwood Bay is also the location of the world-famous Butchart Gardens. Thanks to the close proximity to Butchart Gardens, Brentwood Bay residents have a front-row seat to the nearby attraction’s fireworks show on summer evenings.

Shopping in Central Saanich

Saanichton is home to a Thrifty Foods, and Brentwood Bay features a Fairway Market. A larger shopping center is located in Broadmead, about 15 minutes by car down Highway 17 (Pat Bay Highway).

Schools in Central Saanich

Central Saanich lies within Saanich School District (School District 63). Schools offer French Immersion and project-based learning.

Claremont and Stellys are the two high schools that serve families living on this part of the Saanich Peninsula. Claremont offers and award-winning sports institute. Students train at Commonwealth athletic centre on Royal Oak Drive. Stellys offers a renowned climbing academy. Students train on one of the best climbing gyms on Vancouver Island.

Camosun College Interurban Campus is also located in West Saanich.

World-Class Recreation

In fact, the Panorama Recreation Centre helped North Saanich snag the title of Kraft Hockeyville 2015.  In Fall 2015 North Saanich will receive the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game between Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks.

The Ardmore neighbourhood on the west side of the peninsula is close to the beach as well as two golf courses.

Just to the north, Deep Cove, with its school, fire hall, coffee shop and gas station acts as the “downtown” and heart of North Saanich.

Central Saanich is lies on Hwy 17 (the Pat Bay highway), offering quick access to other parts of Victoria or the Swartz Bay ferry terminal.
