The Rec Centre sits at the centre of soccer fields, baseball diamonds and tennis courts. Close by, there are even more soccer fields at Tyndall Park and at the University of Victoria.

Schools in Gordon Head

Gordon Head is family-oriented, and this means there are many good schools located throughout the region. School catchments are strictly observed, so, generally speaking, students will need to attend the school closest to where they live. Hillcrest Elementary is located in the very heart of Gordon Head, and provides a comprehensive ESL program as well as a Challenge program for gifted learners. Other elementary schools in include Torquay Elementary, Frank Hobbs and Campus View.

Middle and Secondary Schools

Gordon Head Middle School is known for its interdisciplinary teaching. Nearby Lambrick Park Secondary offers a popular business program and a baseball academy.

Closer to the University of Victoria, Arbutus Middle School offers French Immersion education. Nearby Mount Douglas Secondary hosts one of two of the district’s ‘Challenge’ programs for gifted, creative and talented high school students.

University of Victoria and Camosun College

The University of Victoria is located on the southern edge of Gordon Head, and is within walking or biking distance of the neighborhoods in the Gordon Head community. Camosun College’s Interurban campus is also located close by.

BC Ferries and Victoria International Airport are less than a thirty-minute drive from Gordon Head.
